Skype and a Hike

So Matt just left for Nepal this morning, and we are already missing him! I’ve talked to him this afternoon, after they arrived at the guest house safe and sound, and then he skyped us again tonight so he could talk to the kiddos before bed. Yeah, it could be a long week. Trying to plan lots of fun, profitable things to keep everyone in good spirits and keep up morale around here. This morning we went with Kayla and her kiddos to visit Katrina and see her new house. Also took lunch, which was yummy, and the children played so nice together which meant that we moms could actually hold a conversation. After naps and a few laps around the block with Noah riding his bike (without training wheels!) and feeding the fish at the pond, we settled in to skype my mom and she read a few library books to her grandchildren a half-spin of the globe away. Amazing skype is! How would I survive without it?

A few pics from Father’s day a week and a half ago:

We hiked the 8 levels of the Maesa waterfall and then had a picnic at a little thatched roof hut. I just love hiking in the jungle here! It’s rainy season so everything is bright green and the water was cool and clear. These two could not get done exploring:

Miss you and hurry back! One day down, 6 more to go!

  1. Praying that your week goes well!
I remember loving Skype so much that I thought I’d surely put a Skype bumper sticker on the back of our vehicle someday. Very sweet to think of your Mom reading stories to them.

  2. Praying for you this week!
I love reading your blog and seeing the pictures. Noah and Ellen are growing up so fast!

  3. Emily Fox says:

Fun pictures! Hope you have a good week and it goes fast! Said a prayer for you and the children this morning and Matt, too! 🙂

  4. Colleen Zeiset says:

The water falls looks like fun. Praying for you this week as Matt’s gone. We finally got our skype working on our computer. We’ll have to skype you sometime.

  5. Marlisa says:

Heidi, wish we could get together while your hubs is away! We are praying for you all and Matt. Noah and Ellen look like good friends! Reminds me of Brexton and Leah they are somewhat inseparable.

  6. Thank you all for your prayers, it means so much!
